OCTA Factory: which chronographs carry cal. 4401?
Four references on this site are recorded with the cal. 4401: the 26240 and 26240BA chronographs, and the Code 11.59 references 26393CR and 26393OR. Seven builds in total, priced from $1,210. This page sets out what the record says about each of them, including the part of it that is incomplete.
Short answer: Cal. 4401 here is an integrated chronograph clone with a free-sprung balance and weight screws. The Code 11.59 references, 26393CR and 26393OR, are recorded in our catalogue as the Shanghai 4401. For the 26240 and the 26240BA the maker is not stated in the sources we hold, and we say that rather than credit a factory we cannot name. Seven builds carry it on this site, from $1,210 to $1,650. Beyond that we publish nothing: no power reserve, no beat rate, no jewel count, and no claim about how the finishing compares to the reference movement.

Which references carry the cal. 4401?
Four, and they sit in two different collections. The 26240 and the 26240BA are Royal Oak chronographs: three builds under the 26240 reference at $1,650, two under 26240BA at $1,640. The 26393CR and the 26393OR are Code 11.59 references, one build each, both at $1,210. Everything on this site that is recorded with the cal. 4401 is one of those four references. Other chronographs and other families exist here, but our catalogue does not record this movement against them, so this page does not claim it for them.
Why is the maker named for one and not the other?
Because that is what the record says, and a record with a hole in it is more useful than a record with a guess in it. Our catalogue entries for the Code 11.59 references name the Shanghai 4401. The entries for the 26240 and the 26240BA name the movement but not the factory that builds it. The tidy version of this page would write Shanghai across all four, and it would be a claim we cannot support for two of them. So the maker is stated where it is recorded and left out where it is not. If you are ordering a 26240 and the movement factory matters to you, ask on the order thread: the answer goes back to you in writing, per reference.
What does an integrated chronograph mean?
It means the chronograph is built into the movement rather than added on top of it as a separate module. A modular chronograph is a base movement with a plate of extra parts stacked over the back; an integrated one carries the chronograph train, the column or cam switching and the counters inside the same frame. In watchmaking generally the integrated layout is the harder of the two to make thin and the one that keeps the pushers feeling direct, because there is no intermediate layer between the pusher and the switching gear. That is what the word means. It is not a measurement, and we do not turn it into a claim about accuracy, durability or finishing.
How is a chronograph order checked before it ships?
The same way every other order on this site is. Nothing is charged in the cart: the reference, the dial and the figure are confirmed in writing on the order thread, with a 24-hour hold on the price. Once the payment is confirmed, the watch bought for your order is photographed, dial, caseback, movement and serial included, and the set reaches you within one to two days. You approve those photographs before anything leaves. If you want a particular frame, say so on the thread: asking for a specific angle before the set is shot is easy, asking for one after the parcel has gone is not. Shipping is a flat $50 tracked to every country except Brazil, returns run fourteen days unchanged, and the movement carries a two-year warranty.
Is the cal. 4401 the same in the 26240 and the Code 11.59?
It is the same calibre in the sense that both are recorded with the cal. 4401. They are not the same record: the Code 11.59 entries name Shanghai as the maker, the 26240 entries do not name a maker at all.
Which is cheaper, the 26240 or the Code 11.59?
The Code 11.59, at $1,210 for either 26393 reference. Within the 26240 line the cheapest build is the 26240OR at $1,500; the 26240BA is $1,640 and the 26240 is $1,650. That is the workshop's price for each build, not a ranking of them.
Do you publish the power reserve or the beat rate?
No, for any reference. We print what the workshop has given us in writing, and neither figure has been given to us for this movement.
